My world...

Thank you for your kind comments and e-mails about my Sunday Afternoon Tea post. Even my daughter called, telling me my post had upset her. What post? What did I say about the kids that would upset them? Your post about being broke. Oh... Well, that happens every month it is just really early now.

To be honest, I didn't expect the reactions because this is the world in which I have lived for a long time. Actually, it is a whole lot better than it used to be since we know a "check is in the mail" each month thanks to S. S. Disability insurance. I can't say it is easy... it is not always enjoyable... but it is life. I still have tea (at home), and coffee (at home and an occasional McDonald's with hubby), books, my family, Sasha, a little bit of chocolate now and then ... life is good.

I got out last week with the camera and took these pictures. I thought you would like a peek into my neighborhood. Some pictures are from my yard, one is a peek into my neighbor's yard, one is of the county road on which our gravel lane is off of... another the farm across the county road.

With surroundings like this... one is rich. :)

Do you know that I missed your Sunday post? Else that or it's a vague memory. So many of us are in this boat that I know we can all support one another. One of the things that my family is doing now that we hadn't done before is asking before every major run to the city (ten miles) or the "big" city (forty miles) if anyone needs anything. We've got to conserve where we can. My son is very good to my parents calling almost daily to ask what he can pick up for them on his way home. I had to grin that your daughter was concerned when, for you, this is just the way it is. I know that feeling.

Your neighborhood is so lovely and looking so lush. The daffodils growing along the split rail fence is my favorite or maybe the mailboxes in a row.

I think this has been a particularly beautiful spring, something no money could buy. How kind of our Lord to remind us that some treasures are priceless.

blessings this day,

Many of us understood exactly what you were talking about on Sunday. We've been there - or are there right now. But we know that we are truly blessed with God's grace and mercy. And the beauty around us. You don't have to go far to see that. ~Adrienne~

Your neighborhood is lovely and that does mean a lot. I continue to be impressed with how well you do with so little and you're not the only one with money woes these days. It's a sad time for many.

I'm new to your blog and I'm really enjoying it. I love to just sit and listen to your music, some of my favorites. Like many I also am learning to spend less and to enjoy the things in life that don't cost money. I'm really working right now on learning to be a smarter shopper esp. at the groc store. Linda

Brenda,
I think you have an absolutely beautiful home, yard and neighborhood. It looks like a very lovely place to be.

I'd love to bring you some tea...but it might be a long drive since I'm in New England. I was thinking of you at the store today and saw one of your teas (the chamomile and spearmint one).

I really loved your recession series. Do you by chance have any more advice for the pantry? With price increases, I find it more challenging to know what to stock up on and what is a good price. Before I used to be good at knowing prices. Now I'm a bit lost with it all since many things are changing each week.

Have a lovely week!

Brenda,

I was so busy on the weekend that I missed your post ... but so many of us either are in the same boat or have been before or may be again, and it's always comforting to know that the Lord knows our needs better than we do.

Thanks for sharing your life and how the Lord cares, provides and enables and ministers, when all seems lost :o)

Blessings,
Dallas
