Decor-a-Tea

This week's Gracious Hospital-i-Tea's Blog-a-Thon is all about decorating with tea stuff. Yes... I am looking forward to this. It will be fun going to visit other blogs! :)

Do join in at Gracious Hospitality. All pictures below can be made bigger by clicking on them.

This table is against the short wall space that divides my living room and dining room areas. I found that cute black and white sugar bowl at a thrift store and it reminded me of Mrs. Wilt! :)

This is a picture of my bedroom I took last year. Pardon the fuzzy picture! I have a window just like this on another wall, which also has "tea stuff" displayed. This was a little girl's room for the previous owner and the pretty shelves were already in place (as were the purple stamped butterflies on another wall, which I kept).

Here is a closeup of the shelf over my bed. My daughter gave me the silk flowers in the silver containers for my birthday last year. She said she knew how I liked "symmetry". They were perfect for that space, adding some color and depth.

This is the other window in my bedroom. I tried to make it less fuzzy but I was standing on my bed and for the life of me... I couldn't stand still on that mattress! Oh, the things we do for our blogs.

Another area in my bedroom, on top of the small bookshelf. Sorry for the dark picture, there is not a lot of light there.

You've seen my corner cabinet before but this is the first picture since I changed to darker plates. I think it makes the dishes stand out more.

I'll stop here. :)

Do join the fun!

Oh, don't stop now! I was enjoying your pictures so much! I really like your shelves above the windows. . .and you have set my brain in motion. I would like to do something similar. All your tea things look beautiful incorporated into your home. Thanks so much for sharing a peek of your pretty living spaces!

So pretty!

I do like the look of darker, more detailed china in a china cabinet. The soft subtle pieces look good up close, but sort of get lost on display. I'd love to have some plain creamy ivory china with gold rims, but it wouldn't show up very well on display.

I really am fond of corner cabinets. I'd love to stand up close and look at all your pretty tea things in yours. I had to chuckle at your statement about the things we do for our blogs, ain't that the truth. Blessings...

What a lovely post! Your home is so beautifully arranged and decorated with just a "spot of tea" here and there to finish it off to perfection!

Thank you for sharing and enjoy a delightful week!

Really like the shelves over the windows. It's a great way to find more display space and no one will see whether or not the items need dusting.

Such nice lovely tea items! I giggled when I read your comment about the things we do for our blogs, it is so true! I was caught by a neighbor outside in our field photographing little Easter vignettes in the sweet green grass and tiny spring flowers. I had a hard time explaining exactly what I was doing playing with bunnies in the grass!

Love your tea things and how you have them displayed. I must admit, I was also chuckling picturing you going up and down on that mattress while trying so hard to be perfectly still!! LOL I struggle to hold my camera still while standing on a chair!
