A very peaceful scene

Thank you for your kind comments about the pictures. Whenever I think of this house and how much I appreciate living here, it reminds me to never give up our hopes and dreams. God can do anything. I tell the story of how we came to live here in Laying my Isaac down (under Coffee Tea Books & Me Favorites in the sidebar). Being able to purchase this house at a price we could afford was a true miracle.

Here is the book that was in the picture from yesterday's post. I once had it and gave it away. It is now available used at Amazon really cheap (I paid $3.00 plus shipping). It is a lovely book to read with many good ideas for decorating our homes. It wasn't listed in the books I'm reading now because I just pulled it off the shelf to look up something and immediately was caught up reading it again. :) There are no pictures and it is a very small book in size but it truly inspiring.

By the way, I don't mind recommendations for books at all. I love them! I will look up the book about diabetes at the library. The only challenge I have with most books on the subject is they are written for people with Type 2 diabetes and I am one of those rare people who developed Type 1 (Juvenile) diabetes in my 40s.

I've spent the last two days reorganizing Christopher's room. This event was brought about by (finally) finding the perfect set of shelves to create a "home" for many of his items. My sister may be visiting next month and I would never have put her in that room the way it looked. Anyone who has lived with a male teenager, was a male teenager, or is a parent of such will understand completely.

Hi Brenda, I just sent an e-mail to your hotmail account (letting you know in case you don't check it often). "Joanna in Ca" is the winner of my recent draw and I know she is a reader of your blog. So, Joanna, if you read this, please contact me at kadjelily@yahoo.ca.

I'm so glad you were not offended by this book recommendation, Brenda. BTW, the author is a type 1 diabetic who is about 70 years old now. I think you will find it interesting. I'll have to look for romantic living.

Have tears in my eyes after just having read "Laying Down Isaac"... God is so good (even when we don't realize it!). So glad you got your reward. Your home sounds (and looks, by the pics you've shown us) lovely and warm and full of blessings.

Brenda -

I just read "Laying Down Isaac" and I can't tell you how similar it is to our story. I, too, am living in my Isaac house - and loving every minute of it. I think is means more because of the lessons God taught me about trust. Thank you for this wonderful post today. It reminded me to say ,"thank you" to Him again. ~Adrienne~
