A cyber tea party and more ponderings about fatigue

I don't take part in most of the cyber-wide parties. There have been only a couple that I really, really wanted to join. This one looks absolutely delicious, doesn't it?

It will take place on September 10th and you can find out more information about it at the host-ess blog, Make Mine Pink.

Yesterday I was able to get all the silver plate silverware set (purchased at a garage sale) ready to use. I'd been able to polish most of it but I decided a few pieces needed Tarnex, especially the forks. I'll post a picture soon, probably on Friday.

It's amazing how much you can get done in a day, even when you're not feeling well (I appear to have picked up a "bug" of some kind). I always think of Laine and how she would schedule her days when she had more energy in the morning and less in the afternoon.

I made certain I worked on the silverware yesterday morning so I could work quickly with the Tarnex. However, most of the pieces were done a little at a time each day when I could sit in my husband's Lazy Boy chair and polish to my heart's content.

The evening was spent sorting through magazines found for free at the library (Taste of Home, Southern Living, and Midwest Living) looking for yummy looking recipes... good work for times of tiredness and fatigue. Something is getting accomplished, even if it is slow.

In the long run, every bit of work shows up in an orderly home. Much better than whining about the lack of energy and sitting around doing nothing. (Can you tell I am preaching to myself?)

It is all about my favorite Edith Schaeffer quote, which you are probably tired of hearing by now. :)

To paraphrase a bit this time, "If you must always choose between having things perfect and nothing ...you will always end up with the nothing".

Now I am off to meet my friend, Linda, at Starbucks (hello pumpkin spice latte!) after dropping my son off at work. We usually meet for coffee every few weeks but this time it has been nearly two months. That is how busy this summer was for my family. Enjoy your day!

I hope you had a lovely and relaxing time, meeting with your friend.

Also hope 'the bug' is short lived. :-)

Hugs,

Hehe... My daughter quoted that to me a couple of weeks ago when I was "helping" her make continuous bias binding. I told her I'd still prefer to do "something" perfectly. She said she was never coming to me for sewing help again! LOL!

Thank you for posting about my giveaway. I've had more people come from your site than any other place. Most don't enter their name, though. I wonder why?

I have found they are a quiet crowd for the most part. :)
