Almost back to normal

I've been working "slowly but surely" today, continuing to get caught up a bit on housework. Especially the decluttering one needs to do when there has not been time to properly put away everything. Who me? Cluttered house? Oh, yes... However, give me a couple of days and it will look much better.

In the meantime, I thought I would show you some pictures of the flowers I purchased on clearance this weekend. Here is the way they look on the dining table:

That was even after removing some of the flowers for my kitchen window:

I've worked a little bit on my porch, making it look less summer-ish and more autumn-like. However, the summer temps still abound as do pesky bugs. So... I've only done a little at a time.

My rocking chair is now balanced by two beautiful mums as well as a cushion purchased half price at Goodwill.

I haven't brought in either of my autumn decorating boxes from the garage. The heat just doesn't match the project. :)

Your porch looks so inviting. And your flowers are so pretty. My grocery sells small but very nice bouquets for $3.00. I treat myself every now and then.

Just like you, my very dear friend, I have been *Gumby on the stretcher* in the running a marathon while being fatigued department---all for a wonderful cause. I'm so very thankful to be the Lord's. As you said some time back......I am "in labor" and looking forward to "the birth". I've been praying for you. Brend, when I come to your house, I'm going to sit in *that* rocking chair, and I might like it so much that you, being the softie that you are, might send it home with me ;o) Sending love your way. Glad your busy days are passed for, and you're entering a season of rest.

I just finally got in here. Yes, Blogger was giving me fits and not allowing me to access some blogs.

And I really have to get off line now, and not really comment. But I wanted to say that I love your new look here! I love the way your blog looks with the white background on the page!

Somehow, it seems easier to read and easier to see your pictures and I love it.

Now this does not in any way mean that if I am in the minority, or if you want to return to the cream color background, you do not have to not. {Wow, do I ever need to get off line hu? What a sentence!} :-)

But I'm just giving feedback 'cause I like to get it, when I change something on my blog.

I'm leaving the background the way it is. I like it, too.

I played around with one of those beautiful title pictures but it just didn't fit the simple look I wanted for the place.

As soon as I walked on this porch, I knew I LOVED this house. I had a porch on a previous house and enjoyed it so much.

Your porch looks so welcoming, so pretty. I adore the rocker. I think we should all treat ourselves to fresh flowers every now and then!

Hugs,

So pleased that you can be back home, doing the things you love & were called to do.
I'm slowly moving into autumn as well- difficult to get into the mind set when it's 102 degrees outside :P
Pumpkin spice latte is my favorite- along with a pumpkin or cranberry scone; have to ration those treats out or I'll never shrink :(
