Most of the books I'm reading right now are on my living room coffee table. I can quickly move them if we are expecting company. This is because my favorite place to read is on the living room sofa. It's really a combination living room and dining room because of the way those two rooms are situated. I've decorated them in my favorite English Country style. We actually have books and bookshelves in every room but this is where I usually stack my current reading. I keep a variety of books going at once so I can pick them up according to my mood.
This week on my coffee table:
My Bible (since I have my quiet time there or on my porch in nice weather)
At Home in Mitford (I'm rereading most of the Mitford books)
Great Leaders of the Christian Church
and
Talk to the Hand; The Utter Bloody Rudeness of the World Today, or Six Good Reasons to Stay Home and Bolt the Door (by the author of Eats, Shoots & Leaves)

The Bible is my best travelling companion - whereever I go !
I really enjoyed reading Your site.
Adam Holberg.
Thanks, Adam!
I was so happy to have a COMMENT.
I just started reading Talk to the Hand last night. It's about the rudeness in our society today.
If it is as good as Eats, Shoots and Leaves, I'm looking forward to reading the remainder of the book. So far I agree with her completely but I'm only through Chapter One.
I finished Talk to the Hand (it is a small book).
She says everything I feel about today's society. How rudeness is common to all aspects of living.
A very good commentary...
I am SO excited to find someone who decorates English Country! I have been looking for so long to find a blog or forum on it and finally gave up and here you are!!! I may stay up all night now reading your blog ha-ha.
My Bible is my favorite book and I read it daily. I too really enjoyed the Mitford books and someday I know I will re-read them. So many books..so little time!
