Meet Victoria

We've have been foster parents for a kitty these past few weeks and it looks like the "adoption" will be permanent. So... meet the newest member of our family... Victoria (her name came with her).

It all started with a family from church asking my husband if we would be willing to adopt a kitty. They had taken in a cat but it was not working out at all. The poor little girl kitty was being smacked around by the (male) cats they already owned and she spent her days hiding from them.

Hmmm... I wasn't quite ready emotionally for another cat so I said "not at this time". Anyway, I wanted to pick out a kitty... hopefully a long haired tiger striped type kitty.

However, they called during the week asking if we would temporarily take her while they were on vacation for a couple of weeks. They feared for her safety, and... if it worked out... she could stay with us.

So, I said yes. Hubby didn't let the dust settle below his feet as he ran out to the shed to clean the kitty carrier and leave for our friend's house.

He arrived home a couple of hours later, opened the kitty carrier door, and out came...

Victoria... the sweetest long haired tiger striped kitty you would ever want to meet. Is that a "God thing" or is that a "God thing"... exactly the kind of kitty I wanted... and a kitty that needed lots of love and a good home.

All three of us are smitten.

  24. Oh - I'm so happy for you!! And guess what? I think you have a Maine Coon, at least in part - they are THE MOST affectionate and lovable kitties EVER. I have one and he is my favorite of our four. His name is Squeebles. He is silly, playful and VERY loving. You BET it's a God thing - I've been so hoping you'd get another kitty. I'm a firm believer in the idea that animals are soul soothers. That warm fur and the accompanying purr are so beneficial for us humans. Little Victoria is one lucky girl to have found you. She is beautiful - love that Maine Coon type tail!!

My Maine Coon has to "supervise" everything I do - I wonder if Victoria will want to participate in a tea party....

  25. I agree with Suze - I believe Ms. Victoria is at least part Maine Coon. They are so affectionate with definite personality plus! Looks like she will fit right in - and we all know what a good, loving home she will have. She is a beautiful creature! Much love - Raquel XO

  26. Oh Brenda,

What a perfect match for you! My little Maine Coon (all 15 pounds) is under the computer as I write this. You will never be loved as you will be loved by Victoria! She will sleep, talk, and supervise you all day long, if you allow!

    Blessings to you all,

    Matty

  27. I have to add my congrats on your new family member. I think God not only gave you exactly the cat you wanted, but the name is pretty perfect too. Isn't that the name of one of your very favorite magazines?? God is in the details, isn't he?

  28. OK, I came by to wish you a blessed Thanksgiving, and now you have me crying joyful tears. I am so HAPPY you have a new kitty under roof. My heart is purring for you! What a BEAUTY Victoria is. Regal! Yes, she is definitely a God thing. Our Finnegan wasn't who I went to the shelter to pick, but God had a different idea. Somehow He is always right ;-)
    Love and hugs, Brenda.
