I just saw that on another blogger today, and I thought what a great idea.

Would you mind telling me what to look for? Is it under Gadgets? I'd be interested in doing this as well.

BTW, it looks good. And I always enjoy my visits your way.

Mmmm... I've been kinda thinking about the Mitford books too. And with Spring coming (although it doesn't look like it today at our place), it is fun to read them as Father Tim digs in his own gardens.

At present, I've got a few other books on the go, one of which is a real favourite...The Enchanted April, by Elizabeth Von Arnim. I love the movie, and the book is just as delightful.Brenda @ Its A Beautiful Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02955486477303938670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32960314.post-12834286054816658592010-03-18T16:37:53.645-04:002010-03-18T16:37:53.645-04:00Brenda, could the living off the grid book be one ...Brenda, could the living off the grid book be one from this site?
http://www.motherearthnews.com/shopping/browse.aspx?subject=MDB

I would love to try to help find it too...When did you think it was written?Thickethouse.wordpresshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17187303460677067276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32960314.post-14103598022059258422010-03-18T15:12:16.301-04:002010-03-18T15:12:16.301-04:00Thank you for mentioning Barbara Pym, I will read ...Thank you for mentioning Barbara Pym, I will read her one of these days. I'll have to put on my running shoes!! But I did work out in my garden for a couple of hours this morning. Funny, when I moved here the yard was fairly bare, now it is overflowing and my problem isn't trying to grow something, but trying to somehow tame it a bit.

Do you know that I mostly read non-fiction and haven't read the Mitford series, but since you're reading it I will give the books a read through.

All joys,

Sharon Lovejoy Writes from Sunflower House and a Little Green IslandSharon Lovejoyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04321160956925191137noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32960314.post-25205876489452731862010-03-18T11:31:28.594-04:002010-03-18T11:31:28.594-04:00I love the early Mitford novels--they got a little...I love the early Mitford novels--they got a little dull by the end of the series, but the first ones are wonderful. I just may re-read them soon, too. I really liked your red background and when I found one similar I snagged it only to discover that I had the very.same.one. No wonder I felt right at home! And I have to agree with those who complain about the backgrounds slowing things down and causing a blog to be "fritzy."

The chance to read anymore is so rare that I must make the time because there is very little that I enjoy as much as a good read. I'll be returning here for a good suggestion.

Your comment today in my corner made me grin. John is so delighted with having a decorated home that he makes no complaints. He grew up in a home that was simple and unadorned and went on to similar "decorating." So he's taken to "my style" very well and always comments positively. I just finished "The Dean...Dear Brenda,
I just finished "The Dean's Watch" per your recommendation. Such a sweet and wonderful story. It is truly a case of love conquering all! Now, I recommend to you "Wee Sir Gibbie" by George McDonald. It is along a similiar vein and is the perfect introduction in case you are not familiar with McDonald. He is my all time favorite author. It is hard to find at times, but sometimes a library will have it.Bonniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00768716917839658140noreply@blogger.com
