I am not much a great blogger, but I did have fun blogging on this.

www.skirtrevelations.blogspot.comAnonymoushttp://www.cleaningwithkids.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32960314.post-720191346510348312011-04-04T09:41:40.278-04:002011-04-04T09:41:40.278-04:00Yesterday at a McDonald's, I heard my 35 yr. o...Yesterday at a McDonald's, I heard my 35 yr. old son (who is not old-fashioned at all) comment that someone needed lessons in being a lady. I asked him if he was referring to the woman at the table behind us - her dress was very, very low cut and you could even see part of the bottom of her large breasts. He said no, he was referring to her daughter who was sitting with her skirt up, exposing herself.

I wish this experience was an anomaly, but it's not.

My mother always said that sloppy dress produced sloppy manners.

She was right. Just look at modern society (if you can stand to).

The dresses on the link you provided were great! What a refreshing change. I know it's not rational (they're not even there), but I always wonder where their parents are. lolStacy @ The Next-to-Nothing Househttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00727518862013638903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32960314.post-37451919350953344912011-03-30T16:24:25.741-04:002011-03-30T16:24:25.741-04:00I totally agree, about the fashions of today. Also another thing I notice about then and now: men treated the women like ladies then, and I won't say what they are treated like now. I've noticed myself that if you dress like a lady, most of the time you'll be treated like a lady. I also love Rosie's posts, the way they live in "Wesleytown" is such a delight. I have come to know several young women through blogging who are standing up for Godly morals, and taking on more traditonal views of life. Thanks for the lovely posts on your blog. An old commercial touted "You've come a long way, baby" and that is surely true of the gals. I regret to say, however that I believe in too many areas it has been in the wrong direction. May our nation return to "the old paths". It's been on my mind a lot, especially with granddaughters growing up. I'm appalled at the fashions today. On another note...Sunday go to meetin' clothes... Blue jeans seems to be the norm today. Not for me. When my granddaughters come to stay I insist they wear a dress or skirt to church. They oblige their old fashioned grandma! I think I'll write a blog on this subject...thanks for the idea! What happened to maternity clothes?

Like you I'm continually noticing how "sharp" men and women dress in old movies. "Sharp" is an expression of my mother's. She grew up during the Depression and has always known how to make ends meet and still manage to look sharp.
Karen A.Karen Andreolahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12135239838790568639noreply@blogger.com
