I too have a basket of music that I've only started using and a mindful coloring book and they bring me joy. My garden is filled with browns, yellows, and oranges -- not all the pastels that are my favorite. But I am excited about this cooler weather and lovely autumn days.Heather LeFebvrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17911253756416658412noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32960314.post-9769998675123568192015-08-25T14:04:41.351-04:002015-08-25T14:04:41.351-04:00oh how you often speak to just what is going on in...oh how you often speak to just what is going on in my life...thank you Brenda.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32960314.post-36113513275367909802015-08-24T16:34:00.690-04:002015-08-24T16:34:00.690-04:00Brenda,

As I age, and the need for acceptance of things as they are, rather than as one might have dreamed they would be, I find these words increasingly precious.<br />"Resignation is the courage of old age. It will grow in its season, and it is a good day when it comes to us. Then there are no more disappointments; for we have learned that it is even better to desire the things that we have than to have the things we desire. And is not the best of all our hopes - the hope of immortality - always before us? How can we be dull or heavy while we have that new experience to look forward to?<br />Thanks as always for the gift of your 'ponderings.'Judynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32960314.post-80321100385417512622015-08-24T11:31:55.326-04:002015-08-24T11:31:55.326-04:00Dear Brenda I was very upset after reading your p...Dear Brenda I was very upset after reading your post. I find the way you live your life admirable. What is the cause of your feet going numb? You have spoken a couple of times in your blog about moving to a condo. Do you think you would like to do this now? You could continue your gardening with container gardening. I hope you will consider what is best for you. Take care of yourself.Mary Janenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32960314.post-57558523389831845882015-08-24T08:14:29.962-04:002015-08-24T08:14:29.962-04:00I agree Brenda. So I purposely look back and see all the years of marriage and life and raising children and home education. Both my hubby and I notice our reduced energy and stamina levels. I tweaked my back several weeks ago and notice it's taking a lot longer to recoupe than I anticipated! Sigh....but, thankfully, it is slowly getting better! I may be getting older on the outside, but inside, however, I am still becoming who I was created to be! God isn't finished with me yet! I'm still learning and growing and enjoying life as much as I'm able. I don't think of myself as "old" just yet! Hopefully, I'll be around for a while, as I haven't been blessed with grandkids yet! I hope I won't be too old to enjoy them whenever they do arrive!<br />Blessings,<br />Laura C.(WA)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32960314.post-28142466461429963472015-08-23T17:54:08.038-04:002015-08-23T17:54:08.038-04:00Wow, you have been reading my mind. I tell you what, Brenda, it is never a disappointment to read your encouraging words. I am sorry that health issues are plaguing...here, too...and the garden looks more like a jungle than anything. Good things are coming...oh, yes, they are! (I am pulling my terribly disappointing zucchini to plant two cheap mums as soon as the heat abates.)
