When she came to my parents' house for a visit recently I joined them for an afternoon. I realized how much she likes to DO instead of just BE.

My parents enjoy sitting, chatting and watching the squirrels and birds jockey for food outside their picture window. My sister was having a hard time with it since she was feeling the need to go walk, swim, sort, pack; she seemed to have a never-ending list. My parents looked tired. My sister and I went out canoeing and let my parents take a nap. :-)

I guess a balance between being and doing is the best. I really appreciate your reminder to seize the moment, whether it is just seizing a "being" moment or a "doing" moment.Helenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09492231624678740453noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32960314.post-87576565377124427282011-06-20T19:24:57.768-04:002011-06-20T19:24:57.768-04:00Wonderful post Brenda. I also detest the summer heat and humidity...but summer is needed for crops and gardens. I can certainly relate to the spider the size of a Buick. spiders just give me the creepy crawlies! Hope your day has been a good one. God gave me wisdom and courage to deal with it. (You might say I seized the opportunity!) I detest these animals and we seem to have at least one per summer in the house. I'm hoping this one is it for this year...Mrs.Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00392321745556290343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32960314.post-70884551746901246072011-06-20T09:30:20.080-04:002011-06-20T09:30:20.080-04:00You have the gift of encouragement, friend!

I allow those around me to affect my outlook and my mood and I am working on that. This is a very timely post as I go into that environment today.
