Our home is OUR home, not my friend's home and if they all looked the same life would be boring! :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11291951073853426272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32960314.post-52568828495782822202014-08-27T12:30:58.399-04:002014-08-27T12:30:58.399-04:00I'm trying to get to my Goudge books under my ...I'm trying to get to my Goudge books under my pile of reading. :) Reading "The Nesting Place" and it is SO good I can hardly put it down. Now I'm thinking about what things to tweak around the house. I find it hard to set aside energy for home decorating because I'd rather use the energy knitting or sewing or reading. :) And it will take TIME mostly because I don't have the other resource of money. :) But there are a few things I should put some effort into.....Heather LeFebvrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17911253756416658412noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32960314.post-84546507860714038982014-08-26T21:05:29.559-04:002014-08-26T21:05:29.559-04:00Our homes are a reflection of us? Well, they are ...Our homes are a reflection of us? Well, they are a reflection of someone, I do agree. My husband has wanted things Spartan. I have had it not so much, but been limited in many ways as to how I would like things. So to me, at this time, my home does not reflect a whole lot of me really...I pour myself into projects...sewn, crocheted, etc. and most are given away. It is not worth the struggle to do it "my way". I think women who are given more of a free hand in the décor of their homes are fortunate.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32960314.post-66581223687041672492014-08-26T09:55:37.728-04:002014-08-26T09:55:37.728-04:00I re-read the Eliot trilogy about once each year a...I re-read the Eliot trilogy about once each year and have been doing so for many years. 'Pilgrims' Inn' came home with my mother from a library sale when I was in my teens--it is still my favorite work of Elizabeth Goudge, though 'The White Witch' is a close contender.
I am always more cluttered than I need to be, but my house would surely indicate a lover of books, music, sewing, gardening baking--and CATS! I can't imagine 'home' with any of those elements missing.Morning's Minionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01912356455981434029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32960314.post-88974450216474719262014-08-25T22:00:13.017-04:002014-08-25T22:00:13.017-04:00You know that I found The Heart of The Home at an ...You know that I found The Heart of The Home at an antiques store for $1.50, right? That is the only Goudge I have read. I do want to read the others.

I think you are right that homes are a reflection of their owners, and that you can tell a lot about one's priorities by their homes. A room well designed for the use of that room, does make the room very appealing!

DeannaDeanna Rabe - Creekside Cottage Bloghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16133684514103206137noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32960314.post-89420393172625158622014-08-24T19:13:37.373-04:002014-08-24T19:13:37.373-04:00I too love a home where there is evidence of life ...I too love a home where there is evidence of life about: sewing, cooking, gardening, exercising, painting, music, playing, reading, etc. However, I'm afraid I have felt defeated by my house this last couple of years and first impressions might be that too many people live in this house;) and that the woman in charge needs to get with it! I am looking around my home now....seeing what it says to visitors. I hope it says "welcome." Your home definately speaks the words "come on in". This is a great reminder that one of the most important "ministries" we can do as women is to our families and friends....IN our own homes! God put us in that place for a reason.suzannenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32960314.post-27882112168322692852014-08-24T12:59:27.433-04:002014-08-24T12:59:27.433-04:00Something you've said here is making me rethin...Something you've said here is making me rethink my sewing room.
