My World this Week

It is official, I can see my neighbor's barn!

Hubby and I are working to get the property ready for Winter.  We've had near record warm temperatures, which helped make up for the weeks with no water.   So I've been too busy to answer emails... other than a quick sentence here and there with the iPad as I drop to the sofa at the end of the day.  But I will get to them as soon as possible.

The memory card in the camera finally gave up (it lasted a very long time so there are no complaints) and it downloaded all the photos on it since May.  I almost didn't use it but it had too many good recent photos.  However, it took awhile to download (this computer is getting old!) not to mention sort through to put on the blog.  Sigh...

To top it all off... and you know these things seem to come in pairs or triplets... Amazon switched their widget policy earlier than I expected.  You can still enter your Amazon shopping through the widget for me to get Amazon credit but I can no longer update it.

I need time to figure out this new embedding thingy and until I do, if you want to order a book I've recommended, I'm afraid you will have to click on any item in the Widget and then do a search on Amazon.  Just as you would do to enter your Amazon shopping for me to get credit at other times.  Sorry for the extra work.  When I can finally stop flying around and return to the quieter days in the nest, I'll learn how to do the new setup.

So... here is what has been happening recently in my world!

Reading
My friend, Heather, told me about the new Elisabeth Goudge biography.  Then Judy mentioned it in the Comments on Sunday's post.  The hardback edition is pricey but the Kindle edition is only $3.99!  I have read the first few chapters and already love it.

Thrifting
Both the Brambly Hedge teacup/saucer and the oval rag rug came from the Mission's thrift store.  Much appreciated finds!

Decorating with Velcro

I finally remembered to buy Command Velcro Strips to hang the two vintage trays.  One in the Living Room, the other in the Kitchen.  They have been on a shelf for oh... a year or two!

What beautiful photos of autumn -- and great finds (rug & cup and saucer)!
Sorry to hear about the computer aggravation.
Like yours, our weather has been so pleasant the last few days making it easier to get outside maintenance completed in time for s__w.
I do not look forward to snow and slippery roads because I spend a lot of time on the road traveling to care for my parents...

I always love your little blog and of course the fluffy one is always adorable.
If you want to check out my blog redo you can click into and subscribe. I lost all my readers when I moved from blogger to word press. Hoping to get some back. It's lonely out here without readers.

Max and Ruby, Ruby and Max! My kids used to watch that show! I'll have to show it to Kamryn.

This mild weather reminds me of 14 years ago when we bought out house. We planted the trees out front in November of that year!

I need to get my computer to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store, so in the meantime I am using the regular laptop.

The photos of the trees in your town are gorgeous!

RE: Widget

Oh...well I've been scrolling through until I find a link in a post and use that....

hope that will still work.

Its "the season" when mdoe does ALL of her Christmas shopping via amazon. In fact, the husband has already purchased my gift....doesn't know it yet..a GPS bag. He does tell me though to make sure I order on that lady's account. :)

My computer got so skitzy that I lost several comments here yesterday and finally had to give up. I loved reading more about the biogrqphy of Goudge...that first review comment at Amazon was incredibly informative.

Love the velcro idea and that arrangement on your wall.

It's nice when we can see the barns again. =D I am also enjoying this mild November...what a blessing!

Autumn in your neighborhood is pretty. Our leaves are brown and cover the ground now. I can see the roof of the house next-door. You have a handsome and charmingly-country barn next-door.
Thank you for letting us know about the new kindle biography of E. Gouge. I enjoyed her Eliot trilogy last winter - probably because it is so nice when you like the characters and the underlining philosophy has a Biblical grounding. (I like the grandmother best - and her grandchildren.)
